The world of forestry, forest management, and logging can often feel remote and obscure. Yet the decisions we make about forests have far-reaching impacts on design and the world at large.
In 2020, the American Hardwoods Export Council (AHEC) approached Disegno Works for help in getting the design world invested in discussions surrounding the timber industry. We responded with Words on Wood, a podcast series that explores the diverse world of forestry and which makes it legible to a broad, design-interested audience.
Disegno Works collaborated closely with AHEC, guiding the editorial process, curating speakers and episode topics, conducting interviews and script writing. Our team oversaw all audio production from recording to editing and provided a sharp graphic identity for the podcast. In 2022, Words on Wood won the Best Podcast of the Award from Archiboo.
