Staged within a Neo-Gothic ceremonial hall, El Salón was an exhibition created by Disegno Works to showcase the beauty and flexibility of contemporary Spanish design.
Commissioned by Interiors from Spain, part of ICEX Spain Trade and Investment, El Salón was created for Clerkenwell Design Week 2026 inside London's historic Museum of the Order of St John - a grand showcase for leading Spanish brands, set in front of a global design audience.
The installation's scenography was created by prestigious London-based designer Tomás Alonso, whom Disegno Works commissioned. Our role, however, extended across the full range of the project - from producing the installation itself, through to hosting a launch party, and creating a short film and accompanying booklet to give the work a life beyond the event itself.
Staging a major exhibition in one of the historic settings of Clerkenwell Design Week meant coordinating designer, venue, printer and filmmaker against a fixed event date, with production, editorial and event management running in parallel, rather than in sequence.
The result was a multi-format record of Spanish design's presence at one of London's most closely watched design weeks: an installation, film and book that worked together to tell the story of Spanish design today.
